Este artefacto de dos ruedas se ha convertido en un fenómeno de ventas, de la mano de las muchas celebridades que le han puesto los pies encima, desde Justin Bieber hasta Brooklyn Beckham. Incluso circulan en YouTube varios videos con coreografías que utilizan este equipo.

Y todo indica que estará entre los productos más deseados para las compras navideñas.

Sin embargo, este fin de semana se conoció que el gigante del comercio por Internet, Amazon, decidió dejar de vender la mayoría de las marcas hasta que no cumplan con algunos requerimientos de seguridad. También fue retirada de las tiendas Target y la feria de electrónica de consumo CES de Las Vegas prohibió su uso dentro de sus pabellones.

Según el sitio de consumo Best Reviews, Amazon decidió sacar de su lista las populares patinetas con efecto inmediato.

Pero, ¿por qué? Una de las razones ha sido un accidente ocurrido este fin de semana: un niño murió al estrellarse contra un autobús en el sur de Londres cuando iba sobre una de ellas, a pesar de que el gobierno de Reino Unido había prohibido su circulación por las calles.
